| Company Name: Justin Styles |
| Our Slogan:

| What We Do: This contest is being held as a means to create branding for my dj career. I'm a cross format dj out of Minneapolis, MN that specializes in various styles of music. (hence the surname styles). Given this, I play everything from electronic music to a mixture of top 40 and hip hop. |
| Industry Type: Entertainment |
|
| Top Three Things to Communicate Through Our Logo Design: |
| #1 A clean, professional image |
| #2 Progressive thinking |
| #3 Experience |
|
| Our Target Audience: |
The intent of the logo will be for branding of everything from business cards, to cds, to custom labels for the records I play. Given this, I'll typically be handing promotional material out to any age from younger twenties to HR execs in higher end companies that can be in their 40s.
My intent is to create an image that I'm not just another guy who plays music. I'm a professional in how I deal business both on and off stage. I play a variety of events from guest spots at night clubs to corporate events. |
|
| We like these designs. (fonts, colors, style): |
Since this logo will be used in various places, I'd prefer a logo that looks great in color and also printed mono. As my card is handed out to corporate clients, I'd prefer to avoid anything urban from the get go. I'd also prefer to avoid a cliche usage of something like a turntable, headphones, etc but I'm not entirely opposed if done well.. (I am however not an MC so please do not include any sort of microphone)
As most of my music as an electronic influence, I'd like to to semi-fit into that style of design but have a hard time explaining it. I love most of the logos Native Instruments uses for their products (http://www.native-instruments.com/). I love every logo on this page:

In a perfect world, I'd have some sort of icon, be it a play on the letter JS or something to that effect to go with it for smaller spot branding.
I'll be checking up on this a few times to give feedback on what I'm seeing. Thanks for taking the time and to read my attempt at putting what I am looking for into words. |

hi justin,
when you get a second, we'd appreciate some feedback on the designs. maybe if you can rank them and get rid of the ones you're not interested in so we can have a better idea of what you're after. just want to make sure you have the best options possible so we can all build from there. good luck in finding the right logo.
